The Biebs released his fifth album! I know, guys. I'm surprised I'm talking about Justin Bieber so much lately too! I never considered myself to be a "Belieber" even though I've always listened to Justin's music throughout the years. I just never thought of myself as a huge fan -- and I still don't. At least not yet. My best friend's love for him is rubbing off on me, and I'm just excited to go to this tour, okay? Give me a break. 😭
Let's jump into the Changes album though. I told you guys in my Changes Tour blog post a few weeks ago that the album was releasing on Valentine's Day. I listened to it all the way through, and I must say, it's a good album! Do I like it more than Journals and Purpose? I don't think so. However, for me, sometimes it takes me a while to fall completely in love with songs. I've always been like that and I don't know why.
My favorite songs on the album are as follows in no particular order:
-E.T.A.
-Get Me
-Changes
-All Around Me
-That's What Love Is
-Running Over
-Yummy (remix)
I had high hopes for Second Emotion ft. Travis Scott, but that's probably my least favorite song on the entire album. I was expecting a Maria I'm Drunk or a No Sense....but that is not what this song is at all. I do not like Travis' verse at all in this one.
Many people are saying that the songs all sound alike, and I can totally agree that the beats for a lot of the songs sound very similar. I thought the same thing when I listened to the whole album through for the first time. That's why I like E.T.A. and Get Me so much. When I was listening to the album, I just had a COMPLETELY different experience once those songs started playing and I think it's because they sound so different from the rest of the songs on the album. Definitely my top two, for sure. And no, it's not because Kehlani is in one of them. It's genuinely because they're the best songs on the album. Argue with your mom. 😁
Go listen to the album and let me know what you guys think! I don't have a crap ton of thoughts on it other than Justin's voice is really great, and I can't decide if he's talking about Hailey, God, or both in certain songs. I'm just glad he finally shaved that fricken' mustache of his.
